A: City Engineer Jamie Knutson said any major work on the road is a couple years out and that he contacted the Public Works Department to see if there is any way to fix the shoulders and signs. Mailboxes are the property owner’s responsibility.

The defense is asking the court to dismiss the case claiming prosecutors breached medical privacy laws. A date for the trial hasn't been determined.

A crew was demolishing the former Dillard's department store at the Crossroads Mall on Jan. 30, 2026, in Waterloo. Later, in the early March, crews were demolishing other parts of the mall. Tearing down the mall is a step in preparing the site for new development. Demolition of the mall is expected to be completed in 240 days.
