This year’s Red, White & Loo fireworks celebration will be held at the Amphitheatre and will provide free thrilling performances and activities for all ages.
Waterloo’s annual fireworks event will take place on Friday, July 3rd, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. along the Cedar River downtown following the Waterloo Exchange Club’s America 250 Field of Honor Black Hawk County Celebration. This year’s musical headliner is the renowned band Birdchild, with The Meanys performing before them.
The fireworks display will light up the skies over the Cedar River off the Park Avenue bridge beginning at 9:30 p.m. A variety of food vendors will be on site. The Family Fun Zone will be set up in the Arts Mall at the Amphitheatre.
“This annual event isn’t just about fireworks; it’s about coming together with friends and families to celebrate unity and our nation's 250th anniversary. Thanks to our city staff, the Waterloo Center for the Arts, Main Street Waterloo, community volunteers, and sponsors, we’re preparing a fun night of live music and a fireworks show that will light up downtown. I look forward to seeing everyone at the event. I also encourage everyone to check out the Field of Honor all weekend long outside the Veterans Memorial Hall,” says Mayor Dave Boesen, City of Waterloo.
The Red, White, and Loo fireworks event is a collaboration with the City of Waterloo, Main Street Waterloo, and the Waterloo Center for the Arts. The fireworks event is sponsored by AECOM, Veridian Credit Union, PDCM, KWWL-TV and NRG Media. Thank you for generously contributing to the event.
