DECORAH – Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a teenager who is wanted in a what Winneshiek County sheriff’s deputies said was a “brutal attack/assault."
The person wanted is Dalton J. Adam, 18, last seen the Freeport area of Winneshiek County. He is wanted on felony warrants.
"Please lock the doors to your homes and vehicles!" the sheriff's office warned in a Facebook post. "We will continue to keep you updated on this situation as the investigation continues."
Another teen, Jacob Taylor Seelinger, 17, of Decorah, was arrested and charged as an adult with felony willful injury causing serious injury and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail. Bond was set at $25,000. He was transported to a juvenile detention facility, according to the sheriff's office.
The assault took place about midnight Thursday.
Court records indicate deputies and medics were called to 1775 Old Stage Road and found David Hanson, 46, with a bloody and swollen face. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Adam is described as 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 200 pounds with brown hair.
The Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol and Decorah Police Department, along with the assistance of the Decorah Fire Department, are aggressively searching for Adam.
Court records show that police responded to a burglary report at the Old State Road home on January where a door had been kicked open and a bookcase was overturned.
