STILLWATER, Okla. — Iowa State got a big win from Ian Parker, but the Cyclones couldn’t put anything with it Sunday as they fell to No. 5 Oklahoma State in a Big 12 Conference wrestling dual meet, 31-3.

Parker, a redshirt freshman from St. John’s, Mich., defeated two-time NCAA champion Dean Heil 3-1 at 141 pounds. Each wrestler scored an escape for a 1-1 tie after periods. Parker then connected on a takedown with just over a minute remaining in the match and rode Heil out for the win.

Iowa State (6-7, 1-4) five matches by three or fewer points, including an 11-9 sudden victory defeat for Jarrett Degen at 149, a 5-3 loss by Chase Straw at 157 and a 3-2 defeat for Hank Swalla at 174.

Oklahoma State improved to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in Big 12 action.
