Iowa deer hunters are invited to get their whitetail racks scored and displayed during the 42nd Eastern Iowa Sportshow March 10-12 in the UNI-Dome.
Divisions for Iowa’s Trophy Buck competition are current season and historical for both archery and firearms with categories for typical and non-typical racks. There is also a youth category for hunters under the age of 18.
Scoring hours are 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, March 11 and 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, March 12. Cost is $10 per rack, which includes a two-day pass to the show. Anyone with racks to have scored should enter the UNI-Dome through the southwest entrance.

The University of Northern Iowa will play three home games at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex as part of its spring women’s soccer schedule.

The Panthers will host Grand View March 25 at 1 p.m., Minnesota State-Mankato April 2 at 2 p.m. and Northern Illinois April 22 at 2 p.m.
UNI also has 7 p.m. games scheduled at Iowa State April 6 and at Drake April 14.
The Northern Iowa men’s and women’s cross country programs were honored Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their hard work off the course during the 2016 season.
Both teams held over a 3.0 cumulative GPA, earning the NCAA Division I Cross Country Team Academic Award. Overall, there were 431 teams that earned the distinction from the USTFCCCA for their efforts both athletically and academically. Of those 431 teams, 242 were women’s and 189 were men’s.
The women’s team, who had a 3.61 team GPA, while the men garnered a 3.13 team GPA.
