FARGO, N.D. — Five times this season, Waterloo left the ice gnawing on a tough loss to United States Hockey League Western Conference-leading Fargo.

Saturday night, the Black Hawks (12-9-1-1) finally got to taste success as they ended that streak with a 4-1 victory on the Force’s home ice.

The game followed a familiar path early with goals hard to come by. Solag Bakich tallied the first to give Waterloo a 1-0 lead 13:20 into the second period. Seven seconds later, Fargo (16-7-1-1) tied it up.

Bobby Trivigno then converted on a power play to give the Black Hawks a 2-1 lead 7:27 into the third and this time, Waterloo and goaltender Matej Tomek (28 saves) protected it. Hunter Lellig scored into an empty net with 1:46 left, and Garrett Klee tacked on another goal in the final minute.
