LINCOLN, Neb. — Lincoln took advantage of a Waterloo penalty in overtime to score the game-winning, power-play goal in a 3-2 United States Hockey League win over the Black Hawks.

The game got off to a fast start.

Garrett Wait gave Waterloo a 1-0 lead 4 minutes, 18 seconds in with a power-play score. Lincoln pulled even just 39 seconds later, then went up 2-1 on a man-advantage tally at the 11:43 mark of the first.

Ben Copeland answered for the Black Hawks with a power-play goal with just :37 left in the first to tie it at 2-2, and that’s where the score remained until Eero Teravainen connected for Lincoln (22-20-1-1) 1:29 into the extra period.
