INDIANAPOLIS --- Jay Williams turned away 36 shots as the Waterloo Black Hawks snapped a nine-game winless streak with a 2-0 United States Hockey League victory over the Indiana Ice Wednesday at Pepsi Arena.

Max Edson and John Siemer scored for the Black Hawks (10-15-3) as Waterloo halted a six-game winning streak by the Ice.

It was the first shutout of Williams' USHL career and it came against a team that had outscored its opponents, 27-9, over the last five games.

Edson put the Black Hawks up 1-0 on assists from Jamie Hill and Jacob MacDonald 4 minutes, 29 seconds into the first period. Siemer gave Waterloo a two-goal cushion 5:05 into the third with an assist from Mike Montagna.

Waterloo returns home Friday to host the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7:05 p.m. inside Young Arena.
