WATERLOO — Waterloo West charged back from a 31-25 halftime deficit and dealt Cedar Rapids Prairie a 69-56 Mississippi Valley Conference boys’ basketball defeat Tuesday.

The Wahawks got 19 points from Isaiah Johnson and 17 from Carondis Harris-Anderson as they improved to 13-8 overall and climbed over the .500 mark in conference play at 8-7.

DUBUQUE HEMPSTEAD 70, CEDAR FALLS 69: Dubuque Hempstead built a 12-point halftime lead and held off a Cedar Falls rally in the fourth quarter in a matchup of top 10 Mississippi Valley Conference teams.

A.J. Green scored 30 points for fourth-ranked Cedar Falls (15-5, 12-3), Logan Wolf added 15 and Jack Campbell pitched in 11. Hempstead (15-5, 11-5), ranked 10th, knocked down 11 shots from 3-point range.

DECORAH 52, CRESTWOOD 49: Decorah built a nine-point lead after three quarters and pulled out a narrow Northeast Iowa Conference win at Crestwood.

Nick Bockman had 15 points for Decorah (11-10) while Clayton Ollendieck’s 17 led Crestwood (8-13).
