CEDAR FALLS — Northern Iowa maintained its position near the top of the Missouri Valley Conference softball standings with a pair of shutouts during a doubleheader sweep of Bradley, 1-0, 5-0, Friday inside the UNI-Dome.

Waterloo native Jaclyn Spencer won the opening game pitcher’s duel as she struck out four and allowed just four hits and two walks over seven innings. Alyssa Buchanan then kept Bradley off the scoreboard in game two with seven strikeouts versus two walks and three hits.

UNI (22-15, 10-4 MVC) won game one in the bottom of the seventh when Brittney Krodinger singled into center field to score her sister, Courtney Krodinger from third base.

Bailey Lange led UNI in game two with a three-run homer, while Buchanan and Brittney Krodinger each recorded RBIs during a five-run fourth inning.
