WATERLOO — The University of Northern Iowa kept its women’s soccer record unblemished Friday at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.

The Panthers pulled out a 1-0 win over South Dakota State to run their record to 6-0 — all by shutout.

The first half ended even in a scoreless draw, but Brynell Yount provided the game-winning tally in the 84th minute off an assist from Sydney Hayden. It was Yount’s fourth goal of the season, doubling her total from a year ago.

Maggie Smither made six saves for South Dakota State (2-4-1), which was coming off a win over Creighton and a tie against Iowa State. Jami Reichenberger logged her sixth shutout for UNI, turning away four shots on net.

The Panthers return to action at noon Sunday at the CVSC against a Montana team (4-3) that dropped a 1-0 decision at Iowa Friday.
