NCAA track and field: Wartburg qualified in 12 events for NCAA Outdoor

WAVERLY — Wartburg College will compete in 12 events at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday through Saturday in Geneva, Ohio.

The Knights have qualifiers in 11 women’s events.

Teylor Jones made the 200 field, Taylor Officer is in the 800, Ashlyn Bagge will compete in the 5,000 and 10,000, Courtney Sowle qualified in the 100 hurdles and heptathlon, Aubree Taylor is in the 400 hurdles, Sam Holtz advanced in the shot put and Victoria Kapnisis made the discus field.

In addition, Wartburg will send a pair of women’s relay teams — the 4x100 of Becca Cherry, Dailen Folkedahl, Tessa Helmle and Jones and the 4x400 of Folkedahl, Belle Tyynismaa, Jones and Betsy Duehr.

Eli Kaczinski will represent the Knights in the men’s 10,000.
