AMES — Iowa State rode a pair of first-half runs to a double-digit lead and topped Texas Tech 69-57 Saturday afternoon in Big 12 Conference women’s basketball at Hilton Coliseum.

The Cyclones (12-14, 6-9) had spurts of 11-0 and 9-0 to build a 37-26 halftime lead. Texas Tech (7-19, 1-14) got within 64-56 late in the game, but Iowa State closed it out.

Bridget Carleton had 25 points to lead the Cyclones while Emily Durr added 20 points and five assists.
