  • Series: UNI has won seven of its nine games against Loyola.
  • Last meeting: UNI won a 67-58 game in Cedar Falls Jan. 4.
  • Last time out: UNI beat Missouri State, 68-57; Loyola topped Bradley, 58-53.
  • What to watch: UNI ranks eighth in the MVC in offensive rebounding percentage, but Loyola is 10th in defensive rebounding percentage. This is the Panthers' best chance to hit the offensive glass against a smaller opponent.
  • Notes: At 24-2, UNI is off to its best start in school history and a 13-game MVC winning streak is its longest ever. The Panthers rank fifth in the nation allowing just 54.9 points per game and give up 52.2 per MVC contest. Senior Seth Tuttle is playing like an All-American and leads UNI in points (16.3 per game), rebounds (6.5) and assists (3.2) while shooting 62.9 percent from the field and 48.6 percent from the arc. In MVC games only, Tuttle leads the conference with 18.2 points per game in MVC games and is putting up 21 per contest over the last five. Deon Mitchell is shooting 60.6 percent from behind the arc against conference foes and is nine for his last 11. ... Loyola remains without leading scorer, sophomore Milton Doyle. The Ramblers are 3-5 in his absence, but the three wins have come in the last four games. Loyola is one of seven Division I teams with at least 16 wins this season after winning 10 or less last year. Junior Montel James is the reigning MVC Newcomer of the Week after averaging 13.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in wins over Southern Illinois and Bradley last week. Behind Doyle, Christian Thomas is Loyola's top scorer at 10.9 points per game but has landed in double figures just once over the Ramblers' last eight games. While Loyola ranks 344th nationally with 61.4 possessions per game, UNI is 348th out of 351 teams at 60.2. Even with a loss, Loyola would remain in sixth place in the MVC standings. The Ramblers won a 93-87 overtime game last year at Gentile Arena.
