First the history behind the kilt-The original Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery opened its doors in 2003 inside the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The hotel is one of the jewels in the portfolio of the giant gaming conglomerate of Harrah's Entertainment. Donna a Milwaukee Wisconsin native and Al a Cedar Rapids hometown boy poured two-years of planning into creating Iowa's first Tilted Kilt. "Al and I took a trip to Vegas to get away for about three-days and went to the original Titled Kilt", Donna states. Further-we believed that the Tilted Kilt was a true and fresh Irish pub and this was a place that Cedar Rapids should have" Donna went on to say-"We wanted to open a restaurant-pub that would be unique in the Cedar Rapids area.
