Norris for Governor
JUANITA WILLIAMS and DENNIS HARBAUGH
WATERLOO -- John Norris rises to the top among Democratic candidates running to unseat Governor ‘Red Ink’ Reynolds.
John is a proven progressive, having marched with Cesar Chavez and Paul Wellstone for worker rights. His executive leadership experience far exceeds that of other candidates, having served as Gov. Vilsack’s chief of staff and later chief of staff at the US Department of Agriculture, where he successfully directed over 100,000 employees.
John shaped Iowa’s successful renewable energy policies on the Iowa Utility Board, then was tapped by President Obama to serve as a Federal Energy Commissioner.
But what sets John apart is his passion for rural Iowa. He was born on a family farm in southwest Iowa and once owned a main street business in tiny Greenfield. John easily talks commodity prices with farmers and connects with main street folks in small towns.
To beat Reynolds in November Democrats need a passionate, pro-choice progressive from rural Iowa who can match her rural roots and defy the "liberal elite" label.
On a personal note, we know John to be honest and compassionate. He’ll be a governor you can be proud of. We strongly encourage you to vote for John Norris this Tuesday, June 5.
