HAZLETON — The Buchanan County Conservation Board is looking for interested area youth ages 12 to 18 to join the Buchanan County Youth Conservation Crew.
Each day participants will join in leadership activities, educational conservation and ecology opportunities and hands-on service learning.
Crew members will be provided work gloves, water and snacks and a crew member T-shirt. Members should dress to get dirty and be prepared to do physical hands on conservation work. Equipment needed for projects will be provided on site.

Projects may include invasive plant species removal, trail maintenance and brush clearing, bird house construction and maintenance, create fishing line tubes, park clean-up, species surveying and monitoring, frog and toad survey, native plantings, painting or staining, and demonstration garden care.
The first meeting is set for 8 a.m. to noon June 14 at Fontana Nature Center.
Other days are planned for June 14, 28, July 12 and 26 and Aug. 9.
