Waterloo Municipal Band concert to honor veterans

WATERLOO — The Waterloo Municipal Band, directed by Bill Shepherd, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the RiverLoop Amphitheatre downtown.

The first concert of the season will honor veterans and feature vocalist Nola Shepherd singing “More Than You Know” and “As Time Goes By.”

The concert is free and open to the public.

Following the music, stay for the “Lego Batman Movie” showing at 9 p.m. at the amphitheatre as part of the My Waterloo Days celebration.

Guest conductor Paul Baransy will direct “We Stick Together,” depicting the story of the five Sullivan brothers and narrated by Kelly Sullivan.

Fixed seating is available, or concert-goers are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs.
