A Wadena man suffered serious injuries in a rollover crash Friday in Fayette County.

WADENA --- A Wadena man was airlifted to a hospital following a crash near Wadena Friday.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office said the crash was reported about 2:50 p.m. near the area of Kornhill and Hill Roads. Upon arrival deputies discovered that the vehicle had rolled onto its side, the driver had sustained significant injuries, and was trapped inside his 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The owner of the vehicle was identified as Steven Brehme, 62, of Wadena. He was removed from the vehicle and flown by Gunderson Air Care to an unidentified hospital.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Fayette Ambulance, Fayette Fire and Rescue, Wadena Fire and Rescue, Fayette Police Department, and The Iowa State Patrol. The investigation remains ongoing and charges may be filed at a later time. The 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee was deemed a total loss.
