WATERLOO - The autopsy on the body of a Waterloo man found dead in a car on Courtland Street revealed he died of a gunshot wound to the head.
Taveros D. Galloway, 29, died about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Courtland Street. He was found dead inside an SUV that had been shot at in the 500 block of Courtland Street, police said.
The Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office completed the autopsy on Galloway Wednesday. They said he suffered only one gunshot wound.
Police have now removed crime scene tape which was draped over an expansive three-block area on Courtland overnight and today. The street is now open to traffic.
Police ask that anyone with information no the shooting call 291-4333, Option No. 4.
WATERLOO - Waterloo police are investigating their first apparent homicide of the year after a man was found shot to death in a vehicle late Tuesday on Courtland Street.

Police identified the deceased as Taveros Deshun Galloway, 29, no address given.
They said Galloway was found inside a vehicle on a sidewalk in the 300 block of Courtland Street about 11:15 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene of an apparent gunshot wound.
Police said they were called to a report of shots fired in the 500 block of Courtland Street and found the vehicle down the road when they arrived.
Early today, at least two blocks of Courtland Street were surrounded by police tape with officers guarding the perimeter of the scene. The tape draped into the yards of one home in the 400 block and another at the intersection of Elm and Courthland streets.
The shooting is about seven blocks from the Waterloo Police station.
Police were releasing few other details surrounding the incident.
