CEDAR FALLS — The University of Northern Iowa’s Office of Undergraduate Studies and First-Year Cornerstone Program will host writer, performer and video maker Dylan Marron at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.
He will present “Beta Snowflake Cuck: Being a Digital Creator in 2018.” The talk is free and open to the public.
Marron is an IFP Gotham Award and Drama Desk-nominated writer, performer and video maker.
As a writer and correspondent at Seriously.tv, Marron created, hosted and produced “Sitting in Bathrooms with Trans People,” “Shutting Down Bullsh*t” and the “Unboxing” series.
WATERLOO -- The Waterloo Historic Preservation Commission is accepting nominations for projects, organizations, companies or people who have made outstanding contributions to historic preservation in the city.
Winners of the preservation awards will be honored during the commission’s annual banquet at 6 p.m. May 3 at the Waterloo Center for the Arts.
Nomination forms are due by March 16. They are available at the Waterloo Planning and Zoning Department or can be downloaded from the city’s website by going to the historic preservation tab under the Planning and Zoning page.

WATERLOO — Parent/Teacher conferences for all schools in the Waterloo Schools will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 8 p.m. Feb. 15.
School will not be in session Feb. 15-16.
