WATERLOO — Robert H. “Bob” Fraune, 88, of Waterloo, formerly of Fort Madison, died Thursday, Dec. 28, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
He was born April 19, 1929, in Fort Madison to Henry and Emma Wiggenjost Fraune. He married Rosemary J. Schmidt on Aug. 28, 1954, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Madison.
He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1947 and from St. Ambrose University in 1956. Bob was an accountant (Cost Control) at John Deere retiring in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army as sergeant during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Survived by: his wife; three sons, Bob (Sandy) of Waukesha, Wis., Mark (Crystal Meyer) of Waterloo and Larry of Plymouth, Minn.; three daughters, Mary (Jim) Fraune of Minocqua, Wis., Patty Dennis of Waterloo and Barbara Jenkins; five grandchildren, Marlena and Brandon Fraune, Fernando and MiKayla Fraune and Johnny Kohls; and a sister, Helen Loving of West Point.
Preceded in death by: his parents; a son, David; a grandson, Billy Kohls; six sisters, Alice Fedler, Ruth Krogmeier, Viola Menke, Arline Walljasper, Louise Menke and Joan Fraune; and two brothers, James and Paul.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at St. Edward Catholic Church, Waterloo, and also at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Madison. Graveside service will be Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Gethsemane Cemetery, Fort Madison. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, with a 3 p.m. rosary, and also for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Visitation also from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at the King Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison, with a 6:30 p.m. rosary.

Bob loved traveling throughout the USA with his wife and children. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing and he and Rose spent 20 years at their summer lake home in Minnesota. There is a delay to the funeral due to the holidays and the weather.
