WATERLOO — Operation Threshold of Black Hawk, Buchanan and Grundy counties is taking limited LIHEAP applications from households with a member that is age 60 or over or has a disability.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program income eligibility limit for the program remains at 175 percent of the federal poverty level this year.

All other households may apply beginning Nov. 1.

Each applicant will need to provide proof of Social Security number for all household members (unless proof is already on file with Operation Threshold). Applicants also will need to bring proof of all household members’ gross income for the past 30 days and copies of their most recent heating and electric bills. Per LIHEAP requirements, applicants will be required to meet with an Operation Threshold staff person as needed.
