HUDSON — Black Hawk County Sheriff Tony Thompson will host a town hall meeting Thursday in Hudson.

The meeting is planned for 6:30 p.m. at the Hudson Public Library, 401 Fifth St.

People are welcome to bring questions, comments and concerns.

Retired school

workers to meet

WATERLOO — The February meeting of the Black Hawk Retired School Personnel will be Tuesday in the Friendship Village dining room, 600 Park Lane.

The program will start at 11 a.m. and people are requested to arrive a little earlier to register and pay $8.50 for lunch.

Frank Magsamen will speak about the Honor Flights out of Waterloo.

All retired school personnel (administrators, teachers, associates, secretaries, custodians, bus drivers, etc.) are welcome to join the local and state association to help support retired school personnel across Iowa.

Scholarship apps

are now available

CEDAR FALLS — Applications for the annual Sturgis Falls Celebration Scholarship are currently available to high school seniors.

The Sturgis Falls Celebration will offer two $1,500 scholarships to eligible high school seniors from the metropolitan area. Interested seniors may obtain an application at www.sturgisfalls.org.

Deadline to apply is Thursday.
