WATERLOO — A George Washington Carver Academy administrator will be the middle school’s new principal.
Sheena Canady, an assistant principal and the athletic director at Carver, was named to the position effective July 1, pending Board of Education approval. Current Principal Stephanie Mohorne will become an associate superintendent for Waterloo Community Schools.
“We are very excited to have Sheena join us in this capacity,” Superintendent Jane Lindaman said in a news release. “After gathering input from the staff and reviewing the needs of the building, it was very clear that she should be named as the next leader at Carver Middle School. She has been an integral part of the school improvement process this year and will be able to move Carver forward in their work.”
