ELDORA — A ninth-grader has been expelled from a Hardin County high school after threatening to kill classmates with a gun.

A teen, who has not been identified, was accused of sending a threatening text message that said he or she planned to bring a gun to South Hardin High School Feb. 12 and shoot three specific students, radio station KLMJ reported.

The student was taken into custody and interviewed by law enforcement, who determined the teen did not have direct access to a gun but could have borrowed one from a friend, the radio station said.

Neither the school or law enforcement would say why the student threatened his or her classmates.
