WATERLOO — Bryan Jurrens, head assistant principal at East High School in Waterloo, has been named principal at Charles City High School.
Jurrens will begin his new duties effective July 1. He served more than eight years in the Waterloo Community School District. He was administrator for the 9th Grade Academy, advanced placement and International Baccalaureate classes, created and managed school improvement plans, helped with the implementation of a multi-tiered system of supports as well as data collection and analysis focused on equity.
Jurrens was one of 21 applicants for the Charles City principal job. He succeeds Josh Johnson, who has accepted a Regional Administrator position with the Central Rivers Area Education Agency.
