DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) --- A Des Moines man accused of shooting a kitten is charged with reckless use of a firearm and animal abuse.
The Des Moines Register says Roger Brass was arrested after an off-duty police officer heard a gunshot Saturday night. Police say the officer looked toward a house and saw glass from the front door break. The officer saw a small kitten fly from the front of the house.
Police say Brass admitted shooting at the kitten because he was "mad at his parents."
Animal control officers took the kitten and other cats from the house. The kitten died.
Brass was in the Polk County jail on Monday on $2,300 bond. His case isn't on the online court system, and it's not known if he has an attorney.
