WATERLOO – A second person has been arrested in connection with a March shooting that injured one person.
Waterloo police arrested Sean Lester Bish, 18, of 1121 Oleson Road, on Friday for intimidation with a weapon, willful injury causing bodily injury, going armed and carrying weapons. His bond was initially set at $250,000.
The arrest came days after Austin James Wood, 18, was arrested on similar charges in the March 22 incident.
According to court records, Bish removed guns from his father’s gun safe in anticipation of an altercation that was going to happen. During a confrontation between two groups in the 1100 block of Langley Road, Abraham Rivas-Ortiz and another person began approaching Bish and others, and Bish and his acquaintances climbed into Bish’s truck, records state.
People in the truck began firing, striking Rivas, 20, in the right hip, according to police. Rivas was taken to Covenant Medical Center by private vehicle, and he was treated a released a short time later. Medical staff decided against removing the bullet.
Police stopped Bish’s truck near his home. Wood was a passenger, and police also found a holster and ammo, records state. Spent shell casings in .22 and .25 caliber were found on Langley.
