CHARLES CITY -- A Charles City police officer was injured during a traffic stop arrest Tuesday night.
A police report states that at about 9:45 p.m., police made a traffic stop in the 700 block of 11th Street. An occupant of the vehicle, William Davis Jr., 28, of Charles City, exited the vehicle and took off running from police.
He was captured and charged with three outstanding warrants as well as fresh charges of assault on an officer causing injury, false information to law enforcement and interference with official acts.
The injured officer was not identified, but was taken to Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City by ambulance for treatment of his injuries.
The Floyd County Sheriff's Office assisted in the case.
