EVANSDALE – Authorities have arrested an Evansdale man who was detained following a Monday morning standoff.
Jason Robert Back, 44, had been taken to the hospital after a standoff at a Norma Avenue home ended with tear gas and Taser shocks. On Tuesday, Back was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia for items found in the home. His bond was set at $60,000.
Court records alleged Back was holding a semiautomatic handgun in one hand and a magazine in another hand when tactical team members detained him on Monday. He is prohibited from handling firearms because of an arson conviction in a 2011 meth lab fire, court records state.

Back was also arrested on charges of possession of meth with intent to deliver and violation of the drug tax stamp act in connection with a Dec. 22 search at a Lafayette Road home where Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force Officers found pounds of meth and a digital scale.
Authorities had been trying to arrest Back on charges in the Lafayette Road incident since January, and on Monday morning police spotted him at the Norma Avenue home after receiving a tip. He allegedly refused to exit the home.
