WATERLOO – Police have arrested one person in a Feb. 20 robbery at a Waterloo convenience store with the help of distinctive tattoos and a Crime Stoppers tip.

Ricardauris Dupree Robinson, 18, of 917 Lincoln St., was arrested Friday afternoon on one count of first-degree robbery. Bond was set at $75,000.

Authorities allege Robinson was one of two people who entered the Neighborhood Mart on Lafayette Street around 10:30 p.m. Feb. 20. Court records allege that one of the robbers was wearing a black bandana with a paisley design over his face, and when he grabbed money from the cash register, a surveillance camera captured an image of tattoos on his right wrist.

The photos were later posted through Crime Stoppers, which then received a tip listing Robinson as a possible suspect. They matched the tattoos with photos from Robinson’s arrest history.

Officers searched his home and found a bandana with a paisley design.

No other arrests have been made in the crime.
