CEDAR FALLS -- A Cedar Falls woman has pleaded guilty to calling 9-1-1 for a clogged toilet.

According to court records, Cedar Falls police were sent to Loretta Mary Jones' apartment at 4711 University Ave. around noon on Jan. 19 for a broken toilet, and while the officer was en route, she placed other 9-1-1 calls regarding the same issue, demanding her toilet be fixed.

Police determined her toilet appeared to be clogged but wasn't flooding or causing any other emergency.

Jones, 54, had been warned about calling 9-1-1 for non-emergencies on prior occasions, according to court records, and she was arrested for making a false report to a communications center, a misdemeanor. She pleaded guilty on Jan. 30 and was fined $65 plus court costs and surcharges.
