WATERLOO | A woman has been arrested after her 5-year-old daughter was found unattended by a hotel pool Thursday.

Authorities said when they traced the child to room 730 at the Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo, they found her mother inside unresponsive. She had to be physically awakened.

Officials found a hypodermic needle on the floor next to a child's bag. More hypodermic needles were in her purse along with a bag of methamphetamine and a morphine pill, according to court records.

The mother, Brittny Jean Alibegic, 23, address unavailable, was arrested for misdemeanor child endangerment and possession of morphine, meth and drug paraphernalia.
