CEDAR FALLS — A Cedar Falls man had just gotten to work and scratched off his “Tiny Home, Big Wins!” ticket when he realized he’d hit a $50,000 top prize and didn’t know what to do. So he started dancing and celebrating.

“I was at work all by myself so I ran around my whole work yelling, ‘I just won $50,000!’” said Nathan Baldus.

Baldus’ ticket won him the third of eight top prizes of $50,000 available in the lottery’s”Tiny Home, Big Wins!“ game. He claimed his prize Monday at the lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids.

The 40-year-old bought his winning ticket at Casey’s, 51 E. Tower Park Drive in Waterloo.

Baldus, who works for an electrical engineering and equipment company, said he’s already thought about how he plans to use his winnings.

“We may go on a vacation and pay some bills,” explained Baldus. “And I really want to buy a truck.”

Tiny Home, Big Wins! is a $5 scratch game.
