IDA GROVE - Ida County Sheriff Wade Harriman held a news conference today to offer a $5,000 reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction in the disappearance of an Ida Grove woman 12 years ago.

Connie Ruddy, 21, was discovered missing from her home on Feb. 10, 1997. Ruddy's 2-year-old and 2 month-old children were found alone in the residence. The children were unhurt.

On Aug. 31, 1999, more than two years after her disappearance, Connie Ruddy's jawbone was found in the Boyer River in Crawford County near Dow City. Nothing else was found. Sheriff Harriman today asked that anyone with any information into Connie Ruddy's disappearance and death contact the Ida County Sheriff's Office. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
