North Carolina’s mountain region offers people and their pets new adventures, places to explore, and wonderful pet friendly hospitality any time of year!  With its cool summers and seasonable winters, dog lovers and their four-legged sidekicks are sure to enjoy the marvelous and majestic mountains of NC each time they visit.  There are many scenic spots with plenty of pet friendly things to do in the area, and a few cities really top the list when it comes to great places to visit and explore with your pooch.

Boone, NC

Bryson City, NC

The beautiful small town known as Bryson City is perfectly positioned near the very popular Appalachian Trail.  The laid-back vibe of this hidden gem makes it a great destination for people and their pets to relax and get back to nature.  There are hiking trails, waterfalls, outdoor events with live entertainment, and even paddle boarding and other water sport adventures.  Bryson City’s pet friendliness is evident by the businesses that welcome pet guests as much as humans, with many allowing pups to come inside with their people.  With its great fishing spots, breathtaking views, waterfalls, and warm welcomes, Bryson City is sure to please pet travelers and their furry family members.

Brevard, NC

Located right next to the Pisgah National Forest, the lovely town of Brevard has become known for its blend of culture and tourist attractions.  It’s even been named one of the best places in the mountains when it comes to traveling with your pet! Known as the “Land of Waterfalls,” Brevard provides breathtaking scenery and over 250 waterfall wonders for its visitors to experience and enjoy.  In addition to the outdoor adventures and activities, there are also many sidewalk cafes, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants that welcome people and their pets to their patios and covered sitting areas.  All in all, Brevard is the perfect place to visit and experience with your pooch.
