WATERLOO — Tyrone Fleming, 54, of Waterloo, died at home Friday, Jan. 26.

He was born Jan. 11, 1964, in Chicago to Alfred Fleming and Wanda Mae Battles-Fleming.

He graduated from Corliss High School in Chicago. Later he attended Lattee’s Hair College in Chicago where he obtained his barber’s license. Tyrone was employed with Tyson Foods for a number of years. He was currently working at Total Source Moulders.

Survived by: his longtime companion, Audrey Farmer of Waterloo; a daughter, LaTuasha Fleming of Cedar Falls; three brothers, Joseph Battles (Tonya Doss) of Waterloo, Alfred Fleming of West Point, Miss., and Frank (Davida) Nelson of Waterloo; a sister, Shannon (Emmanuel) Berry of Waterloo; two aunts, Shirley Morris of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Joyce (Dan) Radford of West Point; two grandsons, Jakeem and Kareem Wade; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by: his mother; his father; a brother, Steven Mullins Jr.; and a great-nephew, DaMarion Battles.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at Union Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be for an hour before services Monday at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials: may be directed to the family at 1818 Logan Ave., where they will be receiving friends.

Tyrone was a friend to many, and he will be greatly missed. He was the kind of person who went out of his way to help friends and family. Shorty always had a smile on his face and never complained about anything. He loved watching sports and playing basketball.
