WATERLOO -- Randall Scott “Randy” Dawson, 52, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, the victim of a homicide/robbery.
He was born Dec. 15, 1962, in Waterloo, son of Leslie and Jeanne Neibergall Dawson. He married Michelle Hammargren, and they later divorced.
Randy attended Hawkeye Community College and received his certification in welding. He was self employed in home improvement and worked in property maintenance.
Survived by: a son, Dustin of Waterloo; two daughters, Rachel (Justin) McKinney of Waterloo and Jayden Denbow of Nahunta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; his mother and stepfather, Jeanne and John Proctor of Elk Run Heights; two brothers, David (Natasha) of Waterloo and Mike of Evansdale; and five sisters, Deanna (John) Patnode of Scottsdale, Ariz., Ferrol (Rick) Kopren of Cottage Grove, Minn., CarrieAnn Proctor of Clearwater, Fla., Rene (Mike) Gibbons of Elk Run Heights and Anjel (Joe) Graham of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: paternal grandparents, Donald and Lois Dawson; maternal grandparents, Fred and Phyllis Neibergall; his father; a brother, Little Les Dawson; and a sister Lesa Marie Dawson.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Poyner Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
