WATERLOO - Lola Bell Ardis-Alexander, 88, of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, April 22.
She was born July 18, 1923, in Dothan, Ala., daughter of William Ardis and Dovie McKissick. She married Peter Alexander on Nov. 2, 1961, in Preston, Minn. He preceded her in death.
She attended Gospel Temple Church of God in Christ and later Christ Temple Apostolic. She was employed as a domestic engineer by Dr. Kruse for many years until retiring.
Survived by: a sister-in-law, Easter Jackson-Ardis of Salt Lake City; 16 nephews and nieces, Obie D. Ardis Jr. of Dallas, Emanuel Paul Ardis, Abby Shanu, Rose Ann Ardis, Janie Mae Ardis and Rhoda Ardis, all of Salt Lake City, Marvin Ardis Jr., Henry Ardis, Michael C. Kellogg, Fredrick Harper and Shirley Kay Ardis, all of Dothan, Herman Nelson Ardis and Rhonda L. Ardis, both of Midland City, Ala., Norman Bill Ardis of San Francisco, Alonzo Timothy Ardis of Montgomery, Ala., and Jackie Ardis of Atlanta; and 14 great-nephews and great-nieces.
Preceded in death by: a brother, Marvin Ardis Sr.; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Warren-Ardis; and a niece, Brenda Ardis.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Christ Temple Church on South Street, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sanders Funeral Service, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
