HUDSON — Douglas John Wright, 55, of Unionville, Mo., formerly of Hudson, died at home Wednesday, Nov. 29.
He was born on March 24, 1962, in Huntsville, Ark., son of James and Eleanor Geary Wright. On May 31, 1986, he married Vicki Owings in Belton, Mo.
Doug graduated from Nebraska Christian High School, then earned his bachelor’s degree in missionary aviation at Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo. He managed several manufacturing companies, and most recently he was market president of a local bank branch. He obtained his private pilot, sea plane and commercial licenses.
He was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Waterloo, where he served in many different roles, and attended Broadlawn Baptist Church in Unionville.
Survived by: his wife; two children, Clayton (Megan) Wright of Waterloo and Olivia (Ronnie) Hemsworth of Oskaloosa; his father, of Franklin, Tenn.; and three siblings, Daniel James Wright of Rockport, Texas, Debora Jean (Robert) Hoehn of Oxford, Ala., and Diane Joy (Dan) Majors of Franklin, Tenn.
Preceded in death by: his mother.
Celebration of Life service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8.
Memorial fund in lieu of flowers: has been established at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville 52544. Donations will benefit Hospice of Northeast Missouri and missionaries Doug loved and supported.
