OSAGE — Donald P. Greenlee, 82, of Mason City, died Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
He was born March 26, 1935, son of Donald and Elizabeth Kloberdanz Greenlee. He married Lois Gansen in 1961.
He graduated from Osage High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as a loadmaster on a C-124. Don then worked at Gildner’s Clothing in Osage. He graduated from Drake University, earning a B.S. and M.S. in education; teaching in Des Moines, Mason City and Osage, as well as serving as principal at Newman High School. He was a member of national and local education associations over his career, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Kathleen (Jim) Simon of Mahtomedi, Minn.; a son, Steve (Terri) of West Caldwell, N.J.; four grandchildren, Madeline Simon and Emelie, Augustine and Donovan Greenlee; and a sister, Yvonne (George) Latimer of Richardson, Texas.
Preceded in death by: his parents; and his in-laws, Arthur and Isabelle Brennan Gansen.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Epiphany Parish St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E., Mason City. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City. Inurnment will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage, at a later date.

Don was a fan of the Drake Bulldogs, Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Twins. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
