WATERLOO — Connie Jane Ehlert Inks, 54, of Waterloo, died Monday, July 2, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.
She was born March 7, 1964, in Sumner, daughter of Monroe and Ellen (Hofmann) Ehlert. On June 20, 1987, she married Samuel C. Inks at St. John Evangelical Church, Sumner. He preceded her in death in 2011.
Connie was a 1982 graduate from Sumner High School and later graduated from Hawkeye Community College, majoring in the tool and die program. She was employed at the John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo for many years in the tool design area.
Connie was a member of the U.S. Cycling Association and St. John Evangelical Lutheran.

Survived by: her mother, of Sumner; a sister, Karen (Jude) Rochford; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by: husband; and her father.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sumner, with burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Sumner. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the S. K. Rogers Funeral Home, Sumner, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
Connie enjoyed bicycling, boating, water skiing, snow boarding, snow skiing (both downhill and cross-country skiing) and visiting with friends. When she was entering her 20s, she enjoyed lifting weights to stay fit, subsequently she became involved in body building and later rose to the top of competitive rowing in the U.S.
