LA PORTE CITY — Chad L. Murley, 36, of La Porte City, died at home Sunday, Oct. 8.
He was born Dec. 30, 1980, in Iowa City, son of James Lynn and Carol Jean Landis Murley. He married Ashley Glaze in 2004 in Cedar Falls, and they were later divorced.
He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1999. Chad was employed at Pearson Wall Systems in Cedar Rapids for 10 years. He was a member of Local 308 Carpenter’s Union in Cedar Rapids and Black Hawk Archers.
Survived by: his children, Kinsie and Tyce Murley, at home; his parents of Palo; a sister, Michelle (Chris) Bauer of Waterloo; a brother, Aaron (Kiersten) Foster of Waverly; a niece and nephew, Brody and Layla Bauer of Waterloo; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Betty Murley of Waterloo; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents, Billie and Donna Landis.
Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, Waterloo, with inurnment at a later date in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will greet friends for an hour before services at the funeral chapel.
Memorials in lieu of flowers: a memorial fund to benefit Chad’s children has been established at Veridian Credit Union.

Chad enjoyed cooking and loved all types of hunting with his best friend, Sabbie.
