Lillian Medhus of Fremont, Calif., graduated with a Master of Science degree in Nursing: Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in December 2017 from Georgetown University.

While pursuing her degree, Lillian served as the student representative to the board of directors for the American College of Nurse Midwives and traveled to Greece to work with Nurture Project International, serving Syrian women and infant refugees.

Lillian was a domestic abuse support group facilitator with the Afghan Coalition, co-authoring the book “Strong Together: A Domestic Violence Support Group Curriculum for Muslim Women,” as well as serving the local Afghan community through YWAM with her husband, Bryant.

Lillian will continue her career at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minn.

A 2010 graduate of Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School and a 2013 graduate of the University of Iowa, Lillian is the daughter of Joel and Laura Meyers of Cedar Falls.
