WATERLOO — Lindsey Fisher and Jared Smith, both of Muscatine, are announcing their engagement and approaching wedding.
Parents of the couple are David and Gina Fisher of Marshalltown and Noel Strohbehn of Des Moines, and Rodger Smith and Melanie Klemz-Smith of Waterloo and Vicki Simpson of Cedar Falls.
The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of Garwin-Green Mountain High School in Garwin and is attending the dental assisting program at Eastern Iowa Community College, with plans to graduate in December 2017. She was formerly employed at The Buckle, College Square, and was a cosmetologist at Aspirations Salon in Marshalltown.
The groom-elect graduated from Waterloo West High School in 2000; and earned a BA in education from the University of Northern Iowa in 2004; an MA in educational leadership from National-Lewis University in 2006; and a Certificate of Advanced Studies/Superintendent’s License in 2013. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in educational leadership, with graduation in December. Mr. Smith is the head principal at Muscatine High School and was a former assistant principal at East High School, Waterloo.
The 3:30 p.m. ceremony will take place Sept. 17 at Prairie Lakes Church in Waterloo.
