Four new associates have joined VGM Group Inc. DAVID PALMER joins Homelink’s Work Comp Clinical Review Team. He previously was with BioLife Plasma Services and is an Allen College graduate. GREG MAYNE comes to Homelink as a developer from Power Engineering & Manufacturing. DYLAN BORDENARO and XAVIER LOPEZ have joined VGM’s Fulfillment division. Bordenaro is a graduate of Kirkwood College and previously was with Target Distribution Center.
JANIE HUGHES, ARNP, has joined Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Iowa (Wheaton Iowa) as a nurse practitioner for Covenant Clinic Convenient Care. Hughes will work at the Convenient Care Express located inside College Square Hy-Vee in Cedar Falls. Hughes received her associate’s degree in nursing from Indian Hills College in Ottumwa in 2010 and her master of science in nursing from Allen College in Waterloo in 2014.
JON TEHVEN of Waverly was re-elected international president at Sons of Norway’s 2016 International Convention in Tacoma, Wash. Tehven served as president from 2014-2016; his new term will extend until 2018. Tehven’s background includes senior management positions in corporate governance, the life insurance industry, higher education and sales training consultancy. He has a B.A. degree from Wartburg College and pursued graduate study at the University of Northern Iowa. From 2008 to present, he has served as chair of the Wartburg Community Symphony Association.
TERI GOINS has joined Short’s Travel Management Inc. as director of client services. Goins has more than 28 years of experience, most recently as travel manager at Iowa State University. She started her career at Travel Advisors in Iowa as a travel agent followed by a role in operations management. From there, she worked for a travel management company as a national sales manager as well as a client services manager. She then went to work for her client Met Life in corporate travel management and strategic planning. Goins also founded the Nebraska/Iowa Business Travel Association and later served as president. She also provided contracted services to Verizon as director of strategic business development.
ALEX HENNIG has been selected as the communications director for Cedar Valley Catholic Schools. Previously she was with UnityPoint Health in Des Moines as a senior communications specialist. Her past experience includes working in investor relations at Meredith Corp. and as marketing manager with the American Bar Association. Additionally, she co-owned a public relations firm in Chicago. Hennig holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from DePaul University.
TORI STAFFORD has been promoted to executive director of medical affairs and compliance at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital. She also will continue her role as the privacy officer.
SARAH BEHRENS has accepted a position in the medical staff office as program manager at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital. She was previously a senior administrative assistant.
