SHIRLEY McKENZIE and LINDA SCHRAGE have been promoted to vice presidents at First National Bank. McKenzie, a personal banker at Waverly’s main office, has been with FNB since 1991. Schrage has been with FNB since 1987 and currently is the office manager and a personal banker.

MARIAH SCHMITT of Fort Atkinson has been named the new coordinator of Iowa’s Dairy Center, located south of the Northeast Iowa Community College Calmar campus. Schmitt has a bachelor of science degree from Iowa State University with a double major in dairy science and agriculture and society.

JOSH HURLEY has joined the Cedar Falls Community Credit Union loan team. Hurley, of Cedar Falls, has a background in retail lending, secondary market lending and commercial lending.

SARAH GALLAGHER and KATHY McCRACKEN have been promoted at Byrnes & Rupkey Inc. in Waterloo. Gallagher, previously manager of talent and research, has been promoted to director, talent acquisition. She has been with the company for 12 years and has a bachelor’s degree in sports management administration from Loras College. McCracken, previously senior talent acquisition recruiter, has been promoted to manager, talent acquisition/webmaster. She has been with the company for four years and has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Northern Iowa.

CHARLOTTE HARMS joined Head to Toe Salon, now located on 600 State St., Cedar Falls. Harms was previously with Professionally Speaking.

KELLY HILSENBECK, RN, MSN, CMSRN is the new manager of Mercy Living Plus, a senior living community located in Mercy Hospital in Oelwein. Hilsenbeck, of near Fairbank, received her registered nurse degree at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, a bachelor of science in nursing at Allen College and a master of science in nursing-administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill., in May. She previously worked as nurse manager in Sartori’s Medical-Surgical Unit and was a nurse manager at Covenant Medical Center’s Cardiac and Renal Unit.

Four new associates joined VGM Group Inc. KATIE MALTBIE is social media strategist for VGM Forbin. Maltbie is an Oklahoma State University graduate and previously was with Koch Communications. NICOLE SCHNEIDER is a patient care coordinator for Homelink. She was at Allen Hospital. TAYA NICOL is a transportation intake at Homelink. She is a graduate of Hawkeye Community College and was at Longhorn Steakhouse. HEATHER HACH joined Homelink in accounts receivable.

Waterloo Fire Rescue has announced the promotion of BEN PETER- SEN to battalion chief. Petersen joined the department in 1997 and has served as a paramedic, fire engineer and lieutenant. He was an Honor Guard member, on WFR’s Tech Rescue Team and Hazmat Team, and was voted by his peers to be Firefighter of the Year in 2006.
