VGM Group Inc. added four new associates. KRISTIN ROODE is a patient care coordinator for Homelink. A graduate of University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Roode worked for Allied Universal Security. MIKE ISSACSON is vice president of nursing and clinical services for Homelink. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and was at Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging. JAMES McCANN and ERIC OCHELTREE joined VGM as members of the Facility Services team.

SHAWN CARLSON was promoted to new car manager at Community Chevrolet-Cadillac, where he has been a sales consultant for more than 20 years.

PATRICIA THOMA, mortgage officer at Deere Employees Credit Union, serving the Waterloo area, received the President’s Club Award in 2016 from the Iowa Mortgage Association. The award is given to originators in Iowa for achieving at least $20 million in loan production or 130 loans.

SHANNON GERHART, of Calhan, Colo., formerly of Jesup, was appointed as a judge to the El Paso County Court’s 4th Judicial District. She has been serving as the chief deputy district attorney since 2011 and worked in the district attorney’s office since 2001. She graduated from UNI in 1998, and received her law degree in 2011 from the University of Oklahoma.

SHANI MORGAN, formerly of Cedar Falls, was promoted to first vice president, retirement plan services in the North Liberty office of Hills Bank and Trust Co. She has been with the bank since 2008.

DONNA RONEY was promoted at North Star Community Services in Waterloo to Day Habilitation Program coordinator of the Advantage Program. She has been with North Star since August 2014 and was a day habilitation specialist.

LUKE HAWKINS is the new county executive director in Black Hawk County for the USDA Farm Service Agency. A native of Adel, he graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in agronomy. He spent eight years in corn and soybean research between Iowa State Extension in Ames and DuPont Pioneer in Plainview, Texas, and Dallas Center.

LACEY BENDER was named program technician in Black Hawk County for the USDA-Farm Service Agency. She has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from the University of Nebraska. She worked for Nebraska FSA with ARC/PLC and Disaster programs.

Several employees were promoted at DISTek: JEREMY YODER, executive vice president/COO; BOB THEISEN, vice president of infrastructure; LARY HUNTER, vice president of finance; JEFF SANDVOLD, vice president of human resources; BENJAMIN JEFFERSON, vice president of business development; and SANDY SUTTERER, executive advisor.

JENNI MILLER joined Charles City-Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa as program manager, serving Floyd and Butler counties. She graduated from UNI in 2010 with a degree in family services. Miller was a renewal and support specialist for Iowa KidsNet through Lutheran Services in Iowa for six years.

CARLY PAGEL joined the Waterloo practice of Larry K. Fox & Associates, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services Inc., as marketing manager.

DAVID WILSON, certified commercial investment member and first executive vice president at Lockard Companies in Cedar Falls, will be inaugurated as the 2018 CCIM Institute president.
