NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A local brewer won an international award during a beer competition last week.
SingleSpeed Brewing Co. took home a bronze award in the Gose category for their beer, Ring Around the Gose, during the 2018 World Beer Cup competition held at Music City Center in Nashville.
"We're ecstatic to have been awarded bronze at the World Beer Cup," SingleSpeed head brewer Austin Myers said. "It's a great testament to our brewery team and their hard work and commitment to quality over the past five years."
Ring Around the Gose features passion fruit and pink guava in addition to the required sea salt and coriander of a Gose beer.

"Third-best Gose in the world -- something like that doesn't happen by chance, or overnight," said SingleSpeed founder Dave Morgan. "To have one acknowledged in this manner is a truly beautiful thing and I could not be more proud of our team."
Iowa Brewing Co. of Cedar Rapids also was awarded a silver in the American-Style Amber Lager category for their Tragedy of the Commons beer.
The World Beer Cup, presented by the Brewers Association, features 101 beer-style categories at its competition, held biennially since 1996. This year saw 8,234 entries from 2,515 breweries in 66 countries.
